ZKPY 3D Imagery

I’ve been flying around Asia today, and noticed something which piqued my curiosity. How the heck did the Infinite Flight team manage to obtain 3D graphics for Pyongyang Sunan International Airport??

I just checked and there aren’t even 3D graphics for Pyongyang in Google Earth!

What North Korean government official did Infinite Flight bribe??

All 3D airports are built by IFAET so basically an infinite flight player built it and had it released into the game. And if you have more questions feel free to reach out or if it’s about that specific airport I’d contact the editor of it

we can tell you but we’ll have to take extreme measures after.

Well yea, I know that. I just find it amusing that Infinite Flight has Pyongyang as a 3D-modeled airport. This is more of a joke post than a real question.

Satellite imagery is available at Pyongyang

Not 3D sat imagery though. Try to go into 3D mode in Google Earth, and it stays in a 2D format.

Lots of airports are edited without 3D imagery, and sometimes not even street view, it’s annoying but sometimes has to happen, sometimes it’s a little bit of guessing.

Without OSM it’s a painful process for some airports

Also there’s a lot of online imagery of Pyongyang airport from aviation YouTubers including Sam Chui

We also refer to real-world photos and videos during 3D modeling process.

If we only source from 3D imagery then Project China won’t even be possible.

As much as I appreciate the answers to the question, I feel the need to reiterate that this was supposed to very much be a joke post.

Thank you for answering the question though!

Why did you not tell us that? We’re legitimately trying to help you and then you tell us this is all a joke??

I thought I did! I also assumed people would read the blur on my original post.

My bad I didn’t read the full thing!

Lol, you’re totally good! I do still want to know how the Infinite Flight team managed to bribe a North Korean diplomat so that they could get the 3D graphics though!

I have to say, as hard as it is (impossible, really) to do a fully realistic flight into Pyongyang, I really like that airport. The approach is quite scenic, and sometimes I’ll bend the rules of realism and pretend that North Korea wasn’t so hostile and allowed outsiders to come in. The other week I did a very fun Challenger 350 “charter” into Pyongyang from Osaka. Would highly recommend.

Doing this probably put me on some sort of government watchlist
