I am currently 15 and I’m training in a C162 Skycatcher. I am applying for my glider’s license soon, which will automatically convert into a student pilot’s license once I reach 16 (as per my flight instructor), that way I can begin solo flight rather than having to wait several weeks once I turn 16 to receive my student license (also per my flight instructor).

Apologies for any incorrect phraseology

Don’t think you can take your oral and flight test early. Not sure where you got that info from.

You have to be of age when you show up to the examiner’s with your logbook fully endorsed.

@Delta350 MaxSez: The Stinson 108’s dady was the Stinson Voyager. There kinda lookalikes, one model year different. I had my first ride in one when I was 10… I remember it cause we hit an air pocket and I pee’d my pants. That’s a family story that I’ve never lived down…

I am 16 from the USA and I have currently taken two flight lessons and I plan to go for my license in the summer. I will be taking my lessons at Cincinnati Lunken Airport (KLUK) in Cincinnati, OH. Both lessons I flew in the Cessna-172S Skyhawk.

I am 19 years old At Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach, Florida at Daytona International Airport (KDAB) working towards my Private License (PPL) and Degree. I am just a few flights from my solo, and then I move on the next steps on my way to an airline pilot. You should fly to KDAB in IF with one of the three airlines we see here everyday.

Currently don’t have a Pilot’s License. Hoping to change that in the future, however.

I’ve only had a discovery flight at WIFA. But there’s more down the road.

Congrats on even starting this process! I have my PPL/Instrument rating, working on commercial, and my advice to you and everyone is STUDY STUDY STUDY. I don’t know of a situation when preparing for your knowledge exam, oral, or checkride where you can be over prepared. Putting in those hours of quality study will pay off in a big way down the line. Its an amazing journey, one of the best things you can ever do.

According to the FAA website you can if you are at least 15 years old.

Depends on where you are from, I know here you can only fly solo at 16 years, 17 years to get a license. I don’t know how old you have to be to go into ground school but I suggest do it at a young age. Everyone in the classes I have been in and seen are with adults. Just did a check on the ground school I say go get it and work on them flight hours. I am currently just waiting to become 17, I have all the requirements but being 17 couple more months to wait. *Sorry about GRAMMAR don’t have time to look over it

I am currently training on many diffrent things and not really rushing it I have 20 hours logged in a 172 and around 20 not logged in a Grand Caravan EX and A redbird simulator that I can log 2.5 toward PPL and 10 toward instrument rating. I also fly a piper cub sometimes to work on my stick and rudder and just pure flying skills with no instruments just pure flying.
