Hello all!
I recently took on the challenge of flying to as many major hubs and airports as possible around the globe in one aircraft, with one flight plan. While the flight resume feature is often used at cruise and to restart the app for performance, it still (technically) counts as one flight. ‘Flight Time’ pauses when on the ground, so being back in the air as soon as possible is vital.
I am currently at my 44th hour of flight time. Specifications are around 85% to 98% load (full cargo) as I’m able to refuel at one of my stops. Boeing 777F Lufthansa Cargo.
Now on to New York then Greenland, before heading back down to South America!
This is my second attempt at flying around the globe in one aircraft continuously.
The longest route in the world of course, Singapore to New York. I’ve flown it many times, but the most notable one was the one I did on New Year’s Eve. I departed Singapore in the early morning hours of January 1st, 2024, but when I crossed the international dateline, it brought me back to the night of December 31st, 2023. Technically, this flight brought me back in time. Very cool trick lol. I also did this in 2022. Sadly no route screenshots
Excessively long flights must be difficult to pull off, even more so if it’s a group flight. That requires commitment and sheer willpower. And also a lot of flight resume.
Very cool. My FPL is currently EDDP > LOWW > HECA > OMDB > VABB > VNKT > VHHH > ZBAA > RKSI > RJTT > YSSY > NZAA > PHNL > KLAX > KSLC > KJFK > BGSF > BIKF and then it’s down to south America, Africa and back to Germany! Essentially around the globe. Currently at KJFK 46 hours flight time, my goal is ultimately surpassing 100.
EWR-SIN back In 2019 on the SQ A380, before the A350 even released in the sim. It was a little over 21 hours nonstop, as I went the opposite direction to make the flight longer, instead of flying east out of NYC, I flew west all the way to Singapore.
I then did SIN-EWR again when the A359 released, took me around 18hrs 45 mins.
Also did AKL-DOH Qatar B77L, a little over 18hrs, but that was also way back in 2019.
