Your Guide to the Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (WIII)
The Jakarta Soekarno Hatta International Airport (WIII)is the only major international airport serving the Jakarta Metropolitan Area (JMR). This airport is in the top 20 list of the busiest airports in Asia and has been for nearly a decade. It also received an award for being the most hygienic airport in the whole of the Asia-Pacific region in 2020.
This terminal serves as the main domestic terminal of the airport and is served by Batik Air, Citilink, Kalstar Aviation, Lion Air, Trigana Air, NAM Air, Business Air, and Express Air. (a lot of air’s). Select airlines such as Sriwijaya Air and NAM Air also use the terminal for international flights. All domestic flights operate from this airline other than the ones of select carriers such as Garuda Indonesia and AirAsia.
Terminal 2
This Terminal is used by the flag carrier of Indonesia, Garuda Indonesia, Air Asia, Tiger Air, Batik Air, Jetstar, Firefly, Lion Air, Thai Lion Air and Turkish Airlines.
Terminal 3
According to some sources, this Terminal is used by many Garuda Indonesia’s domestic and international flights and is also home to other international carriers, which include Emirates, Etihad, Japan Airlines, Turkish, Cathay Pacific, Air China, China Southern, Citilink (Alongside T1 operations I believe) Qatar Airways, Asiana Airlines, Qantas and Thai Airways.
Runways
Runway 07R/25L
This runway has a length of 12010ft in Infinite flight, while in real life, it is 12008ft. This is a minor difference of 2ft which does not really affect realism and the runway can still operate all heavy aircrafts even when they are near the MLW. Both sides of the runway have an ILS approach available. The frequency of the localiser beacon is 110.50mhz the 07R side of the approach and for the 25L side of the approach, it is 111.10mhz. This runway is used for both departures and arrivals.
Runway 07L/25R
This runway has a length of 11818ft in Infinite flight and 11811ft in real life. It can also handle all wide body aircrafts even when they are close to their MLW. Both sides of the runway have an ILS approach available. The localiser frequencies for the ILS approaches are 111.50mhz for the 07L side of the runway and 110.90mhz for the 25R side. This runway is exclusively used for departures.
Runway 06/24
The length of this runway is 9842ft in Infinite Flight and 9843ft in real life. It has a LOC approach for only the 24 side of the runway. The localiser frequency for this side of the runway is 109.30mhz. This runway is used mostly for landing traffic, and **nearly all traffic coming from the north use this runway for arrivals.**
Charts
I have multiple chart bundles for WIII, if you cannot find your desired SID/STAR/Approach in one bundle, you can check the other bundle. They are a little outdated but they should do the job.
Actually it’s used quite often in real life for landings (alongside the 25L/07R, most traffic from the north would in fact use this runway). The runway should be able to handle most planes with the exception of A380 and 747s. Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar, Korean Air, and Cathay Pacific routinely sends their heavies to this runway:
However, for unknown reasons, the runway is not equipped with ILS equipment (yet). There were plans to extend the runway, so its length is more or less the same as that of other runways (which explains why only 24 has the LOC frequency but 06 does not). However, as of 2026, there has been no update about this.
Basically:
Runway 25R/07L is used exclusively for departures.
Runway 24/06 is used exclusively for arrivals.
Runway 25L/07R can be used for both departures and arrivals.
For those asking why 25R/07L has ILS, it is because the runway was used for both arrivals and departures prior to the opening of runway 06/24 in 2019. The setup is similar to VTBS (Bangkok Suvarnabhumi) with the opening of the new 02L/20R, where it is also not equipped with ILS yet used for arrivals.
Hello. Emirates, Etihad, Japan Airlines, Turkish, Cathay Pacific, Air China, China Southern, Qatar Airways, Asiana Airlines, Qantas and Thai use Terminal 3.
Hello, I would like to clarify on this point, as 25R/07L is typically used for arrivals only when visibility is low (which prevents pilots from using Runway 24/06), or under other circumstances where landing on Runway 24/06 is not possible.
Terminal 2 is only used by Garuda Indonesia for hajj flights. Other Garuda Indonesia flights would depart from Terminal 3.
Turkish Airlines uses Terminal 3.
Citilink international flights actually depart from Terminal 2 as well instead of Terminal 3.
