Today I Introduce you to NAVI Mumbai Airport a massive project aimed at creating an international and technologically advanced airport in Mumbai! The Airport as of March 2026 has not been added to Infinite Flight Airport Data.

Navi Mumbai Airport is Located in the bustling city of Mumbai, just south of the main Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Airport which handles more passengers than the capital of Delhi and is the most busiest single runway airport in the world!
Plans were made in 1997 and construction of the airport began in 2021 after it received approval in 2007, The Airport was built by October 2025 by the Adani Group and was inaugurated in Christmas December 2025.
The Airport is fairly new and as of now operations have begun but only one out of its two proposed runways are operational as of now.

Terminals:
As of now the passenger terminal has been built and operational, the Terminal is built to handle 90 million passengers annually equipped with facilities. The Airport also has General aviation stands and a heliport. The Airport also includes a Domestic Cargo and International cargo terminals.
Phases:
With the mission of reducing the number of passengers through the overcrowded Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport the airport has made 3 phases to ensure operations start as soon as possible. The First phase has already completed with the single runway operating and a small ATC tower created to begin operations as soon as possible. Domestic operations have already begun to reduce the concentration on the Main airport. The Navi Mumbai airport is also located south, unlike Mumbai airport which was extremely near the Juhu Aerodrome which would cause confusion during landing in extreme fog due to the airports only being less than 6nm away from each other causing many crashes before ILS became standard.
