This is my first airport guide, and I’m excited to share it with you. I’ve put this together to help fellow Infinite Flight pilots navigate Kuala Lumpur International Airport (WMKK) with confidence and ease.
KLIA is one of Southeast Asia’s busiest and most iconic airports. With three parallel runways and a unique layout, it can be a little tricky especially during high traffic sessions. Whether you’re flying a short regional route or a long haul sector, this guide will walk you through essential info such as runway usage, terminal locations, and more.

WMKK Terminal 1
Terminal 1 is divided into two buildings: the MTB (Main Terminal Building), also known as the CP (Contact Pier), and the Satellite Terminal Building (STB). The Main Terminal Building is primarily used by Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air Malaysia, and occasionally by Singapore Airlines, while the Satellite Terminal Building serves international airlines such as:

While Terminal 1 focuses on international airlines, Terminal 2 caters primarily to low-cost carriers such as AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, Hainan Airlines, Qingdao Airlines, and Scoot
Runway Information
14L/32R - Asphalt (4,019 metres / 13,186ft)
14R/32L - Asphalt (4,000 metres / 13,000ft)
15/33 - Asphalt (3,960 metres / 12,990ft)

While Runways 32R and 32L are commonly used for departures and arrivals, operations may be reversed depending on wind conditions, with Runways 14L and 14R being used instead. However, Runways 33 and 15 are primarily occupied by low-cost carriers. On rare occasions, other airlines arriving in Kuala Lumpur may also use these runways.
