Hello and Welcome to my Radar Tracking Thread!

As some of you may know, I am already an IFATC Specialist. There is a 60 day minimum requirement explained by Tyler here that I do not meet. In the mean time, I will be practicing on my own. I’d really appreciate if you could stop by and help me out!


Pilot Information

Approach types

ILS Approach

“The ILS consists of two beams, the Localizer (LOC), providing lateral guidance (left/right) and the Glideslope (G/S) providing vertical guidance (up/down).” - ATC Manual

GPS Approach

“The GPS Approach is defined by a series of waypoints and altitude restrictions that the pilot will follow to the runway threshold, free of conventional guidance such as a localizer/glideslope etc”. - ATC Manual

Visual Approach

“A visual approach is an approach to a runway at an aerodrome conducted under IFR but where the pilot proceeds by visual reference when cleared to do so. This means that the pilot must be visual before the Controller can clear the aircraft for the visual approach.” - ATC Manual

Radar Vectors

“Radar Vectors are primarily used to put aircraft into the VFR pattern for an airport.” - ATC Manual


Feedback

Loss of Separation

Terrain - < 1,000 ft AGL
Other Aircraft - < 3 NM lateral, <1,000 ft vertical

Bad Intercepts

Please include how I can improve the intercept.
