Yaw control issue with DualSense triggers after remapping controls

Device: ipad 9
Operating system: 18.6.2

Hello,

Since I couldn’t find any similar issue on the support forum, I’m taking the liberty of sending you this message.

I’ve been an Infinite Flight user for about a year now, and I’ve been using a PS5 DualSense controller for roughly the same period.

Previously, I used the right joystick to control the rudder, but a few months ago I decided to add the two triggers (L2/R2) as additional rudder controls. This allowed me to control the rudder both with the joystick and the triggers — and everything worked perfectly until recently.

Last weekend, I decided to reoptimize my control setup, adding new bindings and removing the right joystick for the rudder so that only the triggers would handle it. That’s when I noticed that the rudder was slightly offset to the left, which becomes a problem at higher speeds.

I tried everything:

– Resetting all control bindings and restoring my previous configuration (joystick + triggers for rudder, which used to work perfectly).

– Disconnecting and forgetting the controller from Bluetooth.

– Restarting my iPad and the game.

– Clearing the cache.

– Testing with another controller.

– Using an online gamepad tester to check if the left trigger was more pressed than the right (it wasn’t, as you can see in the screenshots, the controller trigger returns a zero value when no pressure is applied. It takes intermediate values depending on how much force is used, and it can also reach the maximum value when fully pressed, which shows that it is working correctly.)

Despite all this, the bug persisted.

At this point, the only thing I haven’t tried yet is reinstalling the game.

I also noticed that when I assign only the right joystick to the rudder, it works perfectly fine. But as soon as I add the two triggers, the rudder automatically shifts to the left, as you can see in the attached screenshot.

This configuration worked flawlessly just a few days ago, so I wanted to share this context in case it helps identify what’s causing the issue.

Thank you for your time, and sorry for the long message — I just wanted to provide all the relevant details to make troubleshooting easier.

Best regards,
