Would you Rather: IF edition Part 2

The AI one is interesting but something AI could definitely do without much concern

Unfortunately this is not IF related

Yes, and that’s unfortunate. The thread is about IF ā€œWould You Rather’s,ā€ So it’s best to stay on topic

Tbh, kinda :joy: I haven’t paid the closest attention recently

I’d like to see you come up with 8000 different polls related to Infinite Flight only. Go on, I’ll wait

I’m confused :joy: you don’t have to have 800 polls in the topic… but the topic needs to be on IF. If you run out of polls then you run out of polls, that doesn’t mean we turn to new games

unpopular opinion but the Concorde is mad overrated. the tickets were super expensive, the plane was deafining, and the windows were the size of my palm. if i were even alive back then, i would have just used the money saved to buy a nice slow first class ticket and actually ENJOY my flight across the atlantic

Dynamic demand 100%, but it can’t be based off of real-world events. that makes everything too easy to predict. we also need seasonal fluctuations in demand.

Very nice interesting… even tho it’s not IF related.

A350-1000 is way overhype.

No way bro… I see your point about the A350 being overhyped, and in some ways, its popularity in the community might seem that way. But when you look at the real world engineering and performance, the A350-1000 isn’t just a bigger A350-900 …it’s a massive technological leap that’s redefining the long haul market. It’s a next generation aircraft in every sense of the word.

You would think an aircraft with that much hype would be more successful than it actually is… but nope. Ironically, the 777-9X, an aircraft with no official release date, has more orders than all the A35Ks delivered and on order combined.

The A35K is just a longer version of the A359. Sure it has various features that make it different, like more powerful engines, updated wing structure, and higher MTOW, but it’s more or less a bigger A359.

While the 777-9X may have a larger order book, that’s not the full story. If my memory serves me right, I believe a significant portion of those orders comes from a single airline, Emirates, which reflects a specific fleet strategy rather than broad market success. In contrast, the A350-1000’s orders are from a more diverse range of airlines, demonstrating its adaptability. Furthermore, the A350-1000 is a proven aircraft with a solid track record since 2018, whereas the 777-9X program has faced significant and ongoing delays, meaning it currently has zero deliveries. For a pilot in a simulator, flying an aircraft that is a real world workhorse is a more authentic experience. The claim that the A350-1000 is ā€œjust a longer -900ā€ is an oversimplification, it was specifically designed to compete with the 777-300ER. It features more powerful Trent XWB-97 engines and a structurally reinforced wing to handle a much higher MTOW. This makes the A350-1000 a dedicated high capacity, ultra long haul specialist built for demanding routes that the -900 simply can’t handle, proving it’s a distinct and highly capable aircraft in its own right.

*PSA* I’ve always been team Boeing, but the A350-1000 is an aircraft that transcends brand loyalty. It’s a flying fortress that has proven its capabilities, and you have to give credit where it’s due.

And yet you choose the A350…
