Window cracked on a spice jet, taped with sticky tape.

Oh my gosh. How scary.

I would be so scared.

I dont think tape will cut it.

In all seriousness, this is a normal thing to do in this situation. Tape is used a lot in aviation, it actually is a good temporary fix until the aircraft can go for proper repairs.

It looks like just the inner panel is broken. The inner panels are just plastic. If it broke, the pressure would not change.

Phil swift would be proud. That maybe his next commercial. I SAWED THIS PLANE IN HALF and fixed it with only flextape

Speed tape is awesome

It’s not normal Scotch Tape so don’t worry even if the passengers will

Yeah, this is called Speed Tape. They even use it on fighters (or at least they used to; I’m pretty sure they still do)

Like what Taylor Swift did with that G550. RIP

From a look at the picture this isn’t speed tape (which is used often in aviation an absolutely fine) as the tape used is transparent.

Would be interested in a MEL regarding windows to asses the situation further!

We are talking about some insane differential pressure(cabin and outside). You can’t evaluate damage to a window. Temp will change even if you are at the same alt.

If I was crew here I wouldn’t do this flight even if mx said okay. If I was a pax I would be leaving this flight. Period.

Title is misleading. The window was not cracked. The inner plastic panel was and was subsequently fixed the same day. No harm done. This is just the work of the media trying to scare the public with any news they can find.

Tweet from spice jet saying they fixed it the same day.
