I know, more like in case of emergency or something.

If you were in an emergency that is the last thing you should do.

MaxSez: Terminology @dasabel100. Let’s speak the language of aviation here. “back/side wind”?. There are proper terms for aviation related meteorlogic conditions. There in the aviators bible; “The Pilots Handbook” get it free from faa.gov.

MaxSez: “Never land with a tailwind”! One man’s opinion! During airworthiness certification tail/quartering/crosswinds components are tested and registered for every airframe registered or permitted to operate in US airspace. (Think of DOT certification for foreign cars). Aircraft can land safely within there certified
Performance characteristic (envelope) limits. Thus they can land in a all met conditions within reason. @Furtive_masstwofourf, you need to reconsider your “opinion”
me thinks. Just the Straight Scoop is welcome here.

I am truly exhausted. I regret staying up that long.

@dasabel100… Dan, John Wayne said “Being sorry is a sign of weakness”!
“Regret” is a better word. You do good work most of the time Dan this dud was odiously an oversight. Regards, MadMax

That’s better?

Crosswind, always. It blows me off course and usually my crosswind landings involve one main gear touching down before the other.

After reconsidering my opinion, I feel like it’s not necessary to put yourself in any more harm of a tailwind. Take the crosswind/headwind runways.

In some occasions there is no chance BUt to land with a tail wind. For example PHNL in real life you can come on final ‘over the land’ so you either need to do an amazing turn on final for 08 or land with a tail wind on 25. On FNF on advanced we where all vectored round for a tail wind landing…had 15kts for my approach and landing. Was a bit rough but made it ( thank goodness I was on,y flying the simulator and not the real bird!)

Do you mean runway 26?

Runway 26 is used for arrivals in real life. See linked chart.

In Infinite Flight it’s easier to land with crosswind than with headwind in my opinion.

MaxSez… Whatever works for you @Furtive_masstwofourf. I’d still recommend practicing in all met conditions. You’ll note Red runways on the Advance have no real significance in controlled airspace. Good Controller understand wind direction components and aircraft type capabilities. What are you gonna do if your vectored to a tailwind Red Rway on the Advance, Divert or go for it. The PIC is the decision maker, with your impractical mind set I’d consider you a dangerous man if I where your Instructor or Pax.

I would do it if I was told to. If I had the option, probably not!

@Furtive_masstwofourf . I recommend you never take flight lessons David, that just my personal opinion. It appears to me you know it all from your post history. Bon Chance’. This is my last post his thread. Max
