I just wanted to ask whether the upcoming reworked 787-9 will feature the elegant Lufthansa 100 Years livery.
I know this is a request for a special livery, but I was wondering if it’s something we can expect, especially since it’s already available on the A380.
Personally I’d rather see a smaller airline that isn’t represented in the sim very much/at all over a special livery of an airline we’re likely to get the standard livery for.
Right, but it would still be nice if all countries had at least one or two liveries in the game (except from those that have never operated any plane that’s in the game). There are quite a few countries, at least in Europe, which could have a livery or more in the game but, eventhough they have feature requests, they still get ignored
It also doesn’t really make sense from a business standpoint. Infinite Flight has to add liveries where the demand is, not evenly across the board. If there’s a significant amount of demand for American liveries, they should prioritize that over a country with a smaller amount of requests. This isn’t to say that the smaller airlines in less-represented countries shouldn’t get any liveries at all, but that’s not going to be the priority since the idea is to serve the most customers.
indeed, but the fact that the majority of the community is from one or two countries statistically (for example), doesn’t mean that there’s that low demand for other liveries knowing that people would fly liveries other than their local ones, but they might just prefer flying their country’s airline(s) which is why not as many votes are gathered to one specific request
I agree. Vote counts can be misleading because they tend to get concentrated around a few well-known airlines or countries with larger player bases. That doesn’t necessarily reflect the actual demand for other liveries. Many people enjoy flying airlines from different regions, even if they naturally prioritize their own country’s carriers when voting. So a lower vote total for a specific livery doesn’t automatically mean there’s little interest in it. It may simply mean the interest is spread across many different requests instead of being focused on one.
Also, many players discover new airlines through the game itself. Adding a wider variety of liveries can introduce people to smaller or lesser known carriers, which can increase their recognition and even help grow their fan base within the aviation community. A diverse selection benefits everyone by making the game feel more global and interesting.
