I just wanted to get the community’s take on this. I noticed I see a lot more widebody flights than narrowbody ones. What is the reasoning behind this and is it more personal preference? For me its about time and I’d rather takeoff and land within a subsequent amount of time so I always fly the E175 or 737. Is this a to each their own thing? Just curious, thanks!
I like to use the E175/190 for short to shorter hops, and the 737’s for flights that are 2-3 hours
Same here, these are the only two planes I use lol. Both of them have a special place in my heart.
Trans-Atlantic flights are usually held on widebodies like the 777 and the 787. But recently the A321XLR has caught my eye. With 4,700 NM of range, it can fly for upwards of 11 hours.
I only fly what United uses irl. I only fly airlines id consider working for lol
For me the process is:
“hmm I wanna do a flight”
“What time is it?”
“Considering the time, does it matter if I do a long haul that lands tomorrow or a short one today?”
figures out length the proposed flight should be
scans Flightradad24 for a flight that’s about that long
profit
It depends on the time it is and if I have free time. Typically I might do a few shorter flights throughout the weekend with a long haul over night.
i use irl planes if they have the livery but every plane is good except russian ripoffs
yea same here
Also my exact process lmaoo (except instead of scanning FR24 I scan Wikipedia for fun routes)
I use the A220 for jet practise and the A380 for widebody practise.
I just use whatever I feel like in the spur of the moment. I’ve flown longish flights on an A220 and a 100 mile hopper on an A380 🫣. With random liveries 😜
But to answer your question most of the time its widebody for me since out of all IF planes I like the A350 the most. But also enjoy like the A220 too TBH
Naroow body flights with wide body. hahahah Jk jk
i fly more with wide body than narrow, for me because it’s more comfortable to fly long 6-15 hours so i can do things i wanna do (watching, studying, even hanging out, etc ) if i fly narrow the routes are usually less than 3 hours so i need to pay more attention to the flight to check how far i am for approach ( doesn’t mean i didn’t pay attention on long ones but yea more relax if it’s long one )
I honestly feel like the IFC and IF staff are a little biased towards Airbus for some reason lol am I wrong? Despite all of Boeing’s shortcomings I can’t hate them. Maybe its my national pride or growing up with SWA and the 737, I can’t wrap my head around it.
Yes, I am, especially against the MAX. I do not trust Boeing because of all theri whistleblower stuff and the MAX crashes- a result of production line shortfalls from prioritising profit and quantity over safety and quality that might very well occur on other aircrafts’ production lines. No offense, just facts. Hopefully the strikes and MAX debacle will change the Boeing mindset towards quality over quantity.
The community literally voted for the MAX before the neo
I’m comfortable flying the MAX as long as its in a simulator
I apologize, didn’t mean to upset you.
Long haul wide body flights are more fun for most people (not me) so I think that’s why there are more wide body flights.
