They aren’t a regional jet, my airline runs 737-800s on 45 -60 minute flights to BWI, BNA and MDW out of CLE, does that make the 738 an RJ? UA runs the E-145XR CLE-IAH so does that make it a NOT an RJ? Just because it’s on a short route doesn’t make it an RJ imo :)

I understand that but like i said in my opinion and a majority of other avgeeks it’s not a regional jet, especially with it being a DC-9 replacement, over 100 seats and crewed by mailine pilots. :)
