Why did the previous Air Canada livery get removed on the 787-9 even though half of AC’s 787-9’s flying today still use it?

Exactly, it doesn’t even make sense why they removed it, as there are literally 3 different-generation UAL liveries on the B772, and 2 on the B789
My guess is that they were having issues with storage when they added the new livery (there’s a thread regarding that on replacing the Continental 772 with Evo). But, again, they already had three AA 772s and four AA 738s even back then.

This livery on the 78 is so so beautiful but in my humble opinion so is the new livery. Seriously something about that black mask over the cockpit windows just does something 
The 777 on the other hand, I would take toothpaste over the new livery every day of the week
