Why No Special Liveries?

Hey IFC! I have a very important question I wanted to ask. Why are we no longer allowed to make Features requests for special liveries anymore? This game is community-led and I personally feel that with this change that it is transitioning to not be so community-led. I’m sure a lot of people would agree with me. There are many cool special liveries that your competitor, RFS, has such as the various different Southwest liveries. Those would be so if they were in IF. Instead, we can’t even request them to be added. I know this post will probably be taken down for some reason, but I just want a good solid answer for this question. Thanks!

“Feature requests may not be created for temporary or special liveries (such as for events or raising awareness). Avoiding these often complex designs (e.g. AeroMexico “Quetzalcóatl” on the B787-9) will ensure that our primary focus is on representing as many airlines as possible in-app”

Special liveries are permanent or at least stay for a very long time.

It may be. That’s why I want to get an answer from a staff member as they would be able to tell us the exact reason. I mean they used to always add special liveries as well.

Copyright issue, some can be just to complicated to make, and too keep a diversity

That happened with both the Qantas & Aeromexico. Still not doable.

Very good argument here, i side with him, because if its community-led, why cant we take a community vote rather then just let staff decide

No it’s not. Never have been. Community oriented though which is what we’ve communicated and stated clearly.

What if a special livery had higher demand than a regular airliner livery that’s not yet in the game though? Isn’t that why we have a Features category to vote and try to get things that we want added to the game?

Will there ever be consideration to change the rule or modify it? Will there ever be a time where we can vote on at least 1 special livery that we’d like to see, kinda like how we voted for which plane would get reworked next? I get what you are saying but special liveries are what make some airlines unique and they would be very cool to see around in the virtual sky.

Have you read the topic I linked? We still do make special liveries for that very reason. But they are not based on Features and that’s most likely not to change.
