Why doesn't anyone fly in Chicago?

It’s a HUGE region, and O’hare Intl (KORD) is one of the world’s busiest hubs IRL. There are never any ATCs in Chicago.

If you’re on advanced, it opens up sometimes :)

Fear of delays :-)

I hop on ORD ATC once in a while, sometimes it will attract a few folks. Think that it’s a paid region, so that may factor into traffic as well.

Chicago is not a paid region

I personally hate kord due to It having 300 intersecting runways and it gets chaotic atc wise. I personally am not a fan of that airport

Right on, I’ll blame fear of ground delays then.

Maybe you should ask why no-one flies in Charlotte, too, then.

Why would you fear ground delays when there isn’t a line?

Major ground delays happen at 1 runway airports

Good question. I usually find myself looking at which regions (region, Southern California) has ATC active. If a region is empty, I don’t like flying by myself - I might as well be on solo. But that creates a cyclical problem, where players don’t go on regions that are empty, and as a result, they remain empty.

Bad attempt at humor- I go through ORD 2-4 times a month and end a lot of time waiting for gate ckearance/taxiing/holding/etc.
