Why does the Virgin America A321 have a German flag?

I was looking at the Virgin America A321 just a bit ago, when I noticed that some of them have a German flag on the tail. Did Virgin buy these from Lufthansa or Air Berlin? The problem is that both of those airlines put the flag on the fuselage. Why is the flag there? Thanks

I think the flag is supposed to show where the plane was produced and or made.

Isn’t Airbus made in France?

The registration is German, FR24 says Airbus operates it, looks like it’s in its testing phases, the France thing is something else, I will find out about

Why does it also have an American flag then?

I think it was a decal during testing.

And the American flag since it is still own by an American Airline and is registered there.

Strange- I would’ve thought Airbus would test it in Toulouse

The American flag is for the airline of course.
And: Airbus’ parts are from various countries. A country builds the wings, another country builds the rudder, another country builds that… I think the countries are: Spain, UK, France, Germany, Austria (might be missing one)
And all of the parts will be put together in Toulouse after they have been delivered with the Airbus Beluga.

It may be undergoing testing in hamburg hence the registration being different also

I think that parts are made in Germany but not the entire thing in France.

Production is in Toulouse as well as Hamburg I believe, don’t quote me on that though. The pre delivery aircraft all have this and they just remove it at the delivery stage, usually it’s a decal sticker over the actual paint

Kind of looks photoshopped tbh. Maybe some of the parts of the plane were manufactured in Germany and might be on some sort of agreement.

I thought that too at first, but there are other photos with it

Yes Hamburg is a final assembly site where the planes are made. There are 4 in total across the world.

Yep, Hamburg is where the planes get painted. After that they may do some test flights and then they will be delivered to the costumer.

No it’s a final assembly plant. Where the planes get made. The others are in Toulouse, Taijin and Mobile.
