Why does my plane keep violently rolling left to right while in AP?

Today I was doing a flight in a B737-800 from Istanbul to Dubai. When I departed, it was just like a normal routine flight. But after I left when it was cruising, it was completely fine and normal. but when I came back an hour later after paddle boarding, it was over speeding, and was violently rolling left to right. After trying to fix it, i crashed. This has happened many times to me before using other aircraft and it is kind of infuriating. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

What was your Mach cruising speed as you left your device?

I am not sure, but do you think that might be the root of the problem? I actually do not think I changed the speed when I reached the point where speed was shown as mach, so that must’ve slown it down.

What was your height, speed and (very approximately) weight?

I have no idea, but this has happened multiple times in the past, so it might not just have to do with that.

At least your flight level? We can’t really understand what’s going on unless we know your flight level and speed

Flight level? But if I were to make a guess on the speed it would be M 0.64 (Assuming that since it automatically converts to that.) I set the cruising altitude to 32 or 34 k feet.

0.64 is a bit slow for a 737; bring it up to between 0.78 and 0.82 👍

Also make sure you don’t leave your device until A/P is set and you’re certain it’ll be okay (when you’re close to cruise altitude and speed)

okay, thanks! I was kind of in a rush to get it going.

Yeah. M0.64 is very slow for a 737. That’s probably the reason your plane was tilting. As @SWAviator said, M 0.78-82 is an ideal speed.

Pro tip: if you need to leave your device while you’re climbing, set your airspeed to 290-310 or so and it’ll get you to 0.78 to 0.82 (300 knots converts to Mach 0.80)

yea, but i feel like infinite flight should change airspeed to a realistic speed in mach for the plane instead of M 0.64.

thanks y’all!

Not exactly sure what you mean but you can definitely set your A/P to optimal settings 👌

Glad we could help!

oh wait I was thinking of something wrong 😉

also if I may ask, what would an optimal cruising speed be? I always stuck with 240

At cruise altitude in an airliner, it’s not about the KIAS because that changes with wind, altitude (air density), and other stuff. You choose a certain Mach speed like the ones I said above 👍

I’m fairly sure there’s a tutorial explaining the differences in airspeeds, KIAS, KTAS, groundspeed, and knots vs Mach.

Or there’s good descriptions Googleable.

What was your altitude

Hey! I had the same problem for a few mins when flying KORD-KDTW in a CRJ7. For me, a lot of it came down to speed and if there was a sharp turn.

I have a similar issue that seems to happen after setting my device down flat. The moment I pick it up, the movements stop.
