Why do airlines block off a significant amount of seats at the back of the plane?

I’m flying in the A350-1000 aboard Qatar Airways however I noticed that a bunch of seats at the back of the plane are blocked. Does anyone know why? (Note these seats are not occupied by anyone, they are blocked by the airline)

I’ve noticed this happening in many other flights as well.

I just Googled it and I know why.

These may be blocked off as crew seats. So the flight attendants can sit there to take a break or for turbulence so they don’t have to be in their jump suits the whole time

It is to balance the no of pax load : cargo on a plane.

A number of reasons… the ones I know of:

  • Weight and balance
  • Crew rest
  • Broken seats

idk man cause that flight dont look full.

usually for us its more so for safety precautions in the sense like, we block seats in case we need to move people there for the safety of the flight, or for the safety of where certain people need to sit in certain places as per whatever the rules of the airline is.

I was once on a commercial aircraft departing from a certain country, where something like half or so of the entire back of the plane was reserved for refugees being transported for safe settlement to a more distant country.

So, lots of possible reasons as mentioned by others, could be the answer.
