Why did you become a pilot?

Just simply, why did you (or do you want to) become a pilot? Whether private or commercial, I’d like to know your reasons!

For me, I think it’s the feeling of freedom and the sense of performing a job which not every ordinary person can do, coupled with the fact that you are actually performing a helpful service (i.e. you are physically helping people get to where they want to go).

This is just a place to share their experiences and their motivations for pursuing this career - additionally, has it turned out to be like you expected it to be?

I became a pilot because I was curious. I had always wanted to see the world from above and after flying at a young age I was convinced. I learned a lot about aviation and started flying models and then I decided that I should do a discovery flight at my airport and got to fly for the first time. Then it went from there and I’m pursuing a PPL now.

I am training to be a pilot 👨🏻‍✈️ i always wanted to be a pilot since I was 7 years old. I just always had a love for aviation. And always loved flying planes. Finally my dream came true.✈️✈️

I really want to become an Alaska Airlines Pilot. I’ve grown up in a family of aviation, and I’ve been around it a lot. I also love the feeling of being in the air and having freedom. And doing good things for people. I really hope to get my license and train to be an Alaska pilot! 😃👨🏻‍✈️

I want to become a pilot because once you fly for the first time you don’t forget it. Between the view or being like a bird, you want to know more. I want to join in this magnificent mericle of science

I just love the feeling of freedom, and the beutiful scenery from above. I’ve always loved aviation and look forward to becoming a pilot for the a350 or a320! It’s a cool job to have because not many people can say they are pilots!
