For me personally it’s about the beauty and peace you can see the world from flight level 430.The engineering of humanity. Just the complete peace you can feel in the sky.

For me, it’s seeing the beauty that mankind has made. 100 years ago we had our first flight and look where that got us.
150,000 plus pounds of heavy metal gracefully lifting off the ground like it weighs nothing.
The A380 weighs 1.2 some million pounds and it can fly, the AN-225 weighs 1.4 millions pounds and it can fly. (Both planes are at full load by the way) It should be impossible for such heavy things to fly but look at them, they can do fly, a testament to mankind and our capabilities.

I love the freedom associated with aviation. When I go up, all my worries just leave my mind. The view is just stunning, no matter how high up you are. I also love the uses of aviation; I’m a big naval aviation enthusiast, what those pilots do just seems like such an amazing adventure to me! Same with aerial firefighting, med flights, cropdusting, and of course airliners are such cool jobs.

Probably because of the view from the window. @Lavoe787 said it best, it’s really peaceful and beautiful up in the sky; you can see weather events like rain from above which is incredible imo and occasionally cool things like the Great Wall or Mouths of the Mekong. But also because up in the air you are figuratively (disconnected from internet+far from) and literally above your commitments and worries as you fly somewhere for vacation. [long ahh essay alert]

Navigating the skies and always kind of fascinate me is how sometimes flying direct can increase your flight time compared to flying through a standard airway at times. The role of weather and how the wind moves also sometimes feels like a mystery.

It’s amazing to see all the technology that airplanes have, and I’m also fascinated by how they can fly tons of aluminum, rivets, crew, and cargo through the skies without anything going wrong. The world of aviation is fascinating.

I grew up watching air crash investigation and airport ops type shows every night for years
Definitely a reason + fell in love after watching my first airshow and flying for the first time
