I’ve seen a lot of iPad users, but there’s gotta be a reason for it, no? Is it the performance?
Usually better performance as well as bigger screens, which a lot of us simply prefer (particularly for ATC).
iPad are supreme :3
It just has a bigger screen but my iPhone has the same amount of performance as my iPad (max everything with 60fps) and I think that it’s nice having a bigger screen but personally, it’s harder to land with the bigger screen so I prefer using my phone but that’s just me
The screen is much bigger, it makes flying from the cockpit view much easier (all the instruments are easier to view), you don’t have to rely on the HUD for essential display information.
Big screen and you don’t have to monopolize your phone for IF
I’d say IPad Air versions A15 onwards (Mostly because it’s performance is on par with the pros and it is more cheaper!
Any iPad other than mine
I for example saw an iPad Mini 6. I’d say it makes landing easier compared to other big tablets, but what are some suggestions that balance performance, graphics and handling?
Graphics and performance is totally dependent on the device specs, so it’s not an ideal metric to compare. A more expensive phone will run better than a cheaper ipad, and vice versa.
By handling I’m assuming you mean the motion inputs to fly the aircraft (tilting your device etc). I’ve noticed that it’s slightly easier to fly on your phone at first, it’s much more intuitive at first. After a while, you get the hang of it, and both the ipad and the phone feel identical in terms of handling. There’s virtually no difference when you get the hang of it.
In the end, in my opinion, the ipad is the clear winner due to it’s bigger screen.
Everyone’s saying performance.
If you get one of the latest Samsung Tabs which is of course Android, it rivals the performances of the iPad.
My Xiaomi Pad 5 runs all settings on max perfeclty fine, just gets a bit hot when at a hub, y’all underestimate some other non Apple pads lol
It’s heavier than a phone, thus adding more stability when landing imo
I am considering getting the Xiaomi Pad Pro for IF, on your Pad 5 what is the best setting for airplane count and can you run 60fps without lag?
it can handle everything on max settings in regular scenarios, but when at a hub with lots of people at the gates or taxiing, I would usually turn it down a bit to avoid app crashes.
Exactly, high time people understand that there are many powerful Pads that are not iPads
I wish I had an iPad, ATC on an iPhone 12 mini sucks so bad.
