Boeing has an order for 28 Boeing 777X aircraft from an undisclosed customer. Since the buyer and exact variants remain a secret, I wanted to see what everyone thinks!
Which airline or leasing company do you think placed this order?

Im thinking it might be a European airline maybe Lufthansa or British airways
Southwest Airlines
I’m gonna go outside the box and say Japan Airlines.
Maybe Emirates or Lufthansa.
Those are my guesses so far.
Didnt Emirates already place an order?
Def breeze
JAL has already invested heavily in the A350-1000. If they did wind up ordering it, maybe it’d be to hedge their bets in case the Trent XWB develops a new fanblade issue?
I was about to say something similar lol.
Honestly, if they actually ordered the 777X, it would be a total surprise because the aircraft that is replacing their 77W is the A35K.
But if this is true, it shouldn’t be much of a problem as the airline will somewhat be familiar with the type because of them operating the predecessor, and it could potentially serve as the A35K’s supporter in case something goes wrong.
Not to mention that A350-1000s are pretty much booked solid, and Japan Airlines has hinted that they’re interested in expanding their long-haul network as part of their joint venture with American Airlines.
Speaking of the 777X, this was also sad to know that one of the airframe that was suppose to be delivered to Emirates as (A6-EZT) was quietly scrapped by Boeing last year.
I’m not sure really.
Haven’t been up to date with all aviation news lately.
My money goes to a Middle Eastern carrier, everything they buy there are widebodies.
Spirit for sure for sure
For real though, I think JAL or Emirates, or some other middle eastern carrier.
JAL is a good contender, would be perfect for their high capacity routes.
Not sure if they have already ordered it but i think Etihad
But I truly think it’s a spirit airlines revival
According to the Google AI, Etihad has ordered 25 B777Xs, the -8 version to be precise.
Oh wait, What about Turkish Airlines? Or rydiah air
Someone who is not too happy rn. Emirates was supposed to get their first back in 2021. ![]()

. They recently took one for parts bc they had changed the plane so much and couldn’t retrofit it - too expensive. These things aren’t getting out for another decade.
Stop arguing, it was me.
