White Cloud Virtual has 5 ranks for all pilots to work through. We wanted to make this a simple yet sophisticated ranking system for our pilots to follow. Starting as a New Hire on the Dash 8 Q-400 all the way up to a Commander on the Boeing 787-9.
For easy access and viewing, we made this chart that includes our aircraft and our codeshare aircraft(s) that are unlocked at each rank. Here is an overview of all our ranks.
White Cloud Virtual operates a fleet of 8 aircraft. From the tiny Dash 8 Q-400 to the majestic B777-300 and B787-9, we have a fleet that will take you wherever you need to go. Of those 8 aircraft, we are lucky to have our livery featured on 4 of them. Below is a full list of our fleet.

NZ1075 - Auckland to Seoul - A good ole long haul for the win! From one 3D airport to the next, this flight is sure to impress. Make sure to butter the landing!
NZ34 - Auckland to Papeete - Want to see some beautiful scenery? If so, take this just under 5 hour flight over to Faa’a International. From our home base in Auckland take the 787 on a journey to paradise.

We are still working on a few more codeshares that will be announced later this month. Be on the look out!
In addition to our regular flying mode, we offer a more structured and rigorous fly mode. In career mode, pilots will start as a cadet who is just starting their flying journey. All of our pilots will start on a general aviation aircraft, and then will work their way up to commercial airline pilot or a private pilot. We really believe everyone will absolutely love our Career Mode! Read below to learn more.
Starting Out
All of our pilots will start with 0 hours on the Cessna 172, TMB, SR22, or the X-Cub. First, we will teach you the basics of flying and the systems on the GA aircraft you chose, then we will allow you to fly. Our instructors will walk you through the taxi, takeoff, pattern, and landing in your preferred aircraft. Once that is completed, you’ll be able to fly on your own. All of your flights will start from a local New Zealand airport. You will takeoff from the airport, land at another, and eventually make your way back to where you started. You will get to choose your own routes. Once pilots have reached 25 hours, they will take a test that will help us determine if they’re ready to move on to the next level. If you pass this test, you will be allowed to choose the Private Sector or Commercial Sector.
Commercial Sector
If you choose to go into the commercial pilot sector, you’ll start on the Dash 8 Q-400. At first, you will be trained on the aircrafts systems and how to fly it. Once you’ve been trained, you’ll be given set routes to fly, just like an airline pilot. You will be based out of Auckland, NZ, flying White Cloud Virtual routes. Once you reach 75 hours, you would be administered another test, this time based off of the Dash 8 Q-400. If you pass this test, you be promoted to the rank of Captain. Here, you will work towards 650 hours. The list of the aircraft is as follows.
Dash 8 Q-400 - 0-75 Hours
Airbus A320/Airbus A321 - 75-200 Hours
B777-200/B777-300 - 200-400 Hours
B787-9 400-650 Hours
When you first start on the aircraft, you will be trained, then given routes. Once you reach the required hours, you will be given a test. The required hours will be different for each pilot, depending on skill level. If you pass the test, you will be allowed to move to captain. Once you reach the next required amount of hours, you will be given another test and then move to the next aircraft. Each rank will have assigned routes.
Private Sector
If you choose the private sector, you will start on the C750. Just like the commercial sector, you’ll be trained on the aircraft and given set routes to fly. The routes that you were assigned will not be in a White Cloud Virtual database. For each aircraft, you will start as a First Officer and move to Captain. From the C750, you will move to the A318, then to the B739, then to the B752. This is where you start to choose the outcome of your career. From the B757-200, you can move to the B772(LR/ER) or the A339. Whichever aircraft manufacturer you choose will be the one you stick with for the rest of your career. If you choose the A339, you will then go to the A359, where you will end your career. If you choose the B772, you will go to the B748. Similar to the commercial sector, each aircraft will have a First Officer Position and then a Captain position. Unlike the commercial section, there is not a test to move to Captain. However, there is a test from Captain to the next aircraft. After you complete the Captain portion, you will take the aircrafts test and move to another aircraft. Each of the required hours will be different based on your skill level and desire to move up. If you do not want to move aircraft, you can choose to stay on your preferred aircraft.
Here is a list of the aircraft (in order):
C750
A318
B739
B752
B772 (LR/ER) or the A339
A339 to the A359
B772 to the B748
