Which Departure Direction?

Question on departure
requests/announcements before takeoff:

In Infinite, If a heavy airplane’s takeoff is on runway 34, but your flight plan has you turning west at 600’ to heading 190, are you departing west or south? You’re departing the runway heading to the west, but eventually after a slow turn leaving the airspace to the south. Which is ATC interested in?

The departure direction is the general direction of where your flight is going.

So if I am flying from LAX to JFK, I would be departing east as that’s the general direction of my flight.

The Dep direction is what direction you leave the air space of the airport
