Where should I start using the flaps for landing.

No that’s way to fast for flaps 5. That’s why I said without an Fmc or working displays in the cockpit, it would actually show you where are the correct speeds to drop deploy the flaps.

This link says that flaps 1, 2 and 5 can be used at or below 250kts.

Here’s a photo of want I’m talking about

Do you have the link to it?

I got it off google images but that’s not the point. It’s what’s in the picture is what I’m trying to show you.

If you fly in a A321 A320 A319 A318 you can use this.

Yeah but it’s not always the case. In infinite flight, sure it works but, in real life there are certain speeds at which you should deploy them (depending on your weight, weather etc.) which is managed by the computer system on board (Fmc).

I know but it help a bit

Tried the flaps 5°, nothing happens until 220kts, when the aircraft starts pitching up.

Hold on let me tag @Laurens. He’s probably the one that can best answer your question.

I don’t listen to him bye

I hope he also knows when to start using the flaps in the pattern.

Don’t worry about the slight pitch up, it doesn’t matter because it’s the auto pilot adjusting the plane to do what you told it do.

Why is that lol?

I’ll give you an example:

You fly an A320, Load 65%

Takeoff: mostly use Flaps 1 and Vr at 145kts, if you use Flaps 2 then you rotate at 137-140kts.

Approach: again 65% Load, when you slow down to around 190-180kts Flaps 1, 175-170kts Flaps 2, 160kts Flaps 3 and at 140-125kts(depending on your altitude) use Full Flaps.

Should workout nicely!

It depends on airport/airspace procedures.
You can fly at 240 kts until 6.000 ft, reduce speed to 200 kts or so before reacing 4.000 ft, 180 kts when intercepting the ILS (Flaps 2-5), down to Vref15 at 6-5 miles final, and final Vref speed before passing 1.000 ft.

With flaps 1 for the A320 right?

I will see if I can grab some pages out of the 737 and 777 flight manuals for the flap max speeds.

I was referring to the 737.

I’d need flaps 5 before reaching 200kts.
