Where are controlled ATC thread now?

I haven’t been on the IFC, for now, 5~7 months and a lot have changed. I got able to grind and get my grade 3 back to fly on the expert server but I can’t find the thread saying what airports are going to be controlled by the IFATC during the week (Usually made by Tyler on each Monday).

Have a great day/night!

Hey! The ATC schedule has been retired, and a new region-based system has been adopted. You can read more about it here:

As for airports with open ATC, you can use a website like www.IFATC.org or keep an eye out on the regional ATC tracking threads, like this one here:

But I don’t understand, they will change region each week or day? Or the controllers can control any airport when they want.

Controllers are free to control any airport they want, at any time, in the region that they have been assigned to.

For example, I am an IFATC Specialist, assigned to Asia. I can, at my discretion, open any airport in the Asia region at any time that I’m free (for a minimum of 30 minutes) - and even staff events that take place in my region that require ATC.

Basically to simplify what I’m trying to do, what I use to do like most the people see what airport was going to open at a specific time and then plan a route along with that information.

Yeah - the old schedule system is gone, but it’s been replaced with this region-based system that allows for more flexibility in opening different kinds of airports, around the world. So you might see KJFK or EGLL open at the same time as, say, VIDP or FAOR.

Also keep an eye out in the #live:events category for events staffed by ATC. Note that official Infinite Flight events like the Friday Night Flights, Flash Flights etc will still take place as they were before.

Yes, that’s pretty much it. You can always keep an eye out on the tracking threads to see where controllers are opening up.

There are also occasional “IFATC Takeover” sessions that happen, for each region - where an entire region and as many airports as possible in that region are staffed to the maximum, with controllers who are assigned there.

You can read the full blog post by Tyler here to understand the new system in depth:
