I was wondering when I have to turn off landing lights, I always do it above 10,000ft because I read that on google
Yes, that is correct by my belief. Don’t forget to turn them back on approach before you descend below 10,000.
I do about 7000 AGL (above ground level)
I do it about 7,000.
That’s exactly what I do! Just wanted to make sure I’m doing things right!
“Usually commercial pilots turn their landing lights on when taking off (when lined up the runway and when they have clearance for takeoff) and when airborne below 10,000ft. On arrival – landing lights are turned on when aircraft passes 10,000ft and they stay on until runway is vacated.”
Personally, I turn them on when cleared for takeoff or when entering the runway without ATC, and turn them off when above 10000ft MSL. I turn them on before descending through 10000ft MSL on approach to any airport.
