Possibly a strange one, but I fly a lot & check my overall stats/record just ONCE every 6 months.
Yup
Due to the last time I had a short break from IF & returned on 21/12/23, the dates I check my stats/record on are 21st December & then 21st June of each year. Meaning I get to check my stats in a few days
This made me wonder “What do other people do?”
I’m interested to know, although I assume a vast majority check regularly.
Some context as to why I do this:
Back when I first wanted to grind to grade 5 from 3, I’d do around 25-30 landings per week. There’s 400 landings between grade 4-5, so I got into the habit of not looking at my stats in order to make the process seem less daunting & just concentrate on enjoying the flying.
Now I’ve done enough flying/landing to make grade 5 like 3/4 times over, I no longer really need to look. It’s also fun to wait to look after such a long period of time
Anytime my Grade 5 drops to Grade 4. I’ll typically put on a podcast and do landings for the duration of the podcast (roughly an hour). I usually get around 100 landings during that time so I only need to do this every 90 days
I usually take a peek at it after a flight since it shows up. Honestly now that I’m Grade 5 the only stat I mainly pay attention to is the 90 day landing count.
The other stats don’t mean much to me especially ever since people have been getting the inflated xp from AP+ flights.
