When do i know when to put my flaps down when descending?

When you’re about to enter the Glide Slope (Final approach) you should probably start putting your flaps out. Even though, that might be a little late.

You just put them down when you think you should?

Basically, don’t put them out too early, though! If you’re in an Airbus A321, I would put my Flaps to “1”, before I enter the approach path. I’d have them on “2”, when I’m entering the approach path, put them to “3”, when I’m halfway through the approach path, and “Full”, when you’re nearing the end of the approach path. Ok thanks! but uhh how did u know im flying an A321 rn?

I don’t, I was just giving an example of an Aircraft. Are you actually?

Wow! What a coincidence! If you’re thinking about getting Pro, I would highly recommend it! You definitely get what you’re paying for.

Yes! I just so want to fly my A220! Just need to get the money…

All depends on altitude and speed. If you are 15nm out from the airport but your at 2500ft and 180kts then you would see the flap speeds which are somewhere in cockpit to indicate which flaps settings are appropriate.

Depends on the plane. For the 737 I usually do flaps 1 a couple miles from localizer intercept, flaps 5 when glideslope alive, gear down then flaps 15 intercepting the glideslope, and finally flaps 30 or occasionally 40 at 1500 ft above the airport. For the A320 I usually fly at ~200 kts in clean config approaching localizer intercept, flaps 1 when glideslope alive, flaps 2 and then gear down intercepting the glideslope, followed immediately by flaps 3, and then flaps FULL at 1500 ft.

Bro just made enemies with Avioes and he just joined a few days ago lol

Answering your question, I believe that using a website like SimBrief (maybe not SB, but that was just an example) can allow you to calculate things like speeds for a certain aircraft/weight/speed. Now, obviously, not everybody has to do that, as it’s a very tedious process to just get that small amount of information, but it would certainly be something you should consider, especially if you are contemplating getting a Pro Subscription (specifically to keep realism higher on Expert server, or just in general)

Sorry whos avios lol and thx that did help alot. I was saying that once i get a pro subscription i will be able to fly my a220 finally

In some of the aircraft’s cockpits, there’s a little placard with the flap extension speeds.

Whats avioes? (im new to IFC)

Yes, but that tells you nothing about when you should extend flaps or when you should slow down. It’s become common misinformation that you should be going flaps 5 at 255 kts in a 737.

I use my flaps depending on speed usually in aircraft profile guide pages you’ll see the speeds to lower/raise flaps
