New to infinite flight here, might be a dumb question.
My flight plan consists of approach and arrival to heathrow, and when checking in and requesting ILS approach, atc asks me to expect “vectors.” However I already have a flight plan set with arrival and approach + APPR. Do I have to follow these vectors?
Yes, ATC vectors take precedence over your flight plan.
In theory this would apply to trainer server as well, but there is no enforcement as TS is for practice (and the ATC on TS is just as likely as not to be practicing issuing the notice).
On the training server, I don’t think anyone really wants to follow the instructions. I recommend following the instructions; maybe it will help ATC to join IFATC.
Yes, there are no punishments because it is simply a trainees server.
On training server, you’re not obligated to-and in fact, if you see a radar controller vectoring you away from the airport with no traffic I’d come to the point where I’d ignore them as well. On Expert, not following them doesn’t really go unpunished-minor deviations with no conflict will be most likely met with a simple warning, but if you outright ignore a vector or cause a conflict there’s a risk of getting reported.
