the quickest and slickest Airport I have come across was at Amsterdam kept traffic flowing efficiently with about a 5 minute wait for departure. London Heathrow has been the worst where I had to queue for well over 45mins but I enjoyed the plane spotting!
Iāve been in queues that vary in time. The longest one Iāve been is was probably an hour at KATL some time back. Extremely busy but fun.
For me it was a while ago at KSAN. Only one runway so a departure left and then there was an arrival with about 15 planes in line to take off. It took about 30 minutes just to pushback because of a gate hold and about another 30 minutes until I took off.
I fly the non-obvious (underdog?) airports on Expert.
No queue! š
I donāt like queues muchā¦
Mine was definitely in an event at KLAX. The queue was like 90mins stretching from one end of the runway to the other.
I remember my longest queue was at KLAS I think it was an FNF and I was stuck in the queue about 15-30 minutes waiting to takeoff but itās fun having an airport so busy
My worst has been Honolulu (PHNL) during a FNF, during a lot of traffic, pushback wasnāt allowed for around 20 mins. Finally when we started pushing back, no one was landing, the only traffic in the airspace was us at the gates. It took another 20 mins or so to take off because of all the aircraft waiting to depart.
Iād say EGCC. I spent around an hour just in a taxi line. Someone got ghosted for pushing in front of me too.
I canāt recall the airport of choice, but I remember it took me two hours to get off the ground, 30 minutes on a gate hold, and 1.5 hours in a que. Not a personal fan at all. Need to root for the āno-que teamā with @azeeuwnl. Quickest was at KDEN, where I received permission to pass the entire que and take off of Runway 25, not 34R. I was out in less than ten minutes!
Pre-global TNCM FNF. It was hell. Waiting for aircraft to land and back taxi, took ages. One departure every five minutes with 100 inbounds.
TBH IDK, there hasnāt been a lot of traffic in RCTP, so I guess it is during events.
Training server, LAX, tower told me to hold short. I ended up doing that for thirty minutes.
ATL during a FNF about a year ago, it was the IF screen shot for awhile as wellā¦ There were a few DLVA members doing a flight out, and we waited at least 45 min, but it was awesome watching all the aircraft go by on take off rolls, and just seeing how things were being expedited
