The Alaska Airlines “More To Love” livery was introduced in 2016 as Alaska merged with one of it’s Pacific Coast competitors, Virgin America. Painted on two aircraft, an A321 and a Boeing 737-900, More To Love features a red, purple, and dark cobalt gradient across the fuselage with the words “MORE TO LOVE” sprawled on the side in a bold typeface.
Even though I never got the chance to fly with Virgin America (I was only nine when they disappeared), they are still one of my favorite airlines and I wish I had the opportunity to fly them while they still operated.
The More To Love aircraft were both repainted in 2023 back into regular Alaska colors, bringing an end to what is arguably the best special livery ever created. However, the spirit of these beautiful colors still lives on in our hearts, and I decided to show this late livery some love by taking it for a medium-haul ride up the Pacific Coast.

On the ground in Puerto Vallarta. Ever since @PhorzaSky hosted a flyout here I’ve been incessantly travelling in and out of this place. It’s a really nice airport!
A beautiful ascent with the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains in the background. It doesn’t get better than this folks.
Did someone say Baja California? This stunning peninsula, though mostly desert, makes for some amazing views while flying along the western Mexican coast. (Although I wonder why the American California isn’t called “Alta California”…)
Ladies and gentlemen, if you look to your left you’ll see the incredible packed Los Angeles International Airport. Seriously guys, why are you all swarming LAX? It doesn’t even have ATC!
Here we are in San Francisco! This flight was fun, but all good things must come to an end, especially when those good things take up four hours of your time 😅
