I was looking on YouTube for an air traffic controller game for the smartphone. Infinite Flight was introduced in a video. So I did all the requirements, fulfilled them and worked hard on the training server controlling different airports (spoiler: most of the time was Heathrow Airport) to join the IFATC team. End
Wow that’s amazing, thanks for sharing your story 😎
I found Infinite Flight in 2018 but you had to pay for it then and I was too scared to ask my dad to pay but after years of waiting, watching other people play it, seeing the clip that advertises it on the App Store and wishing I could play it I finally got the courage to ask my dad and he payed and downloaded it for me. Years went by with my flying in the non pro regions and it was only until after ages of wishing that I could get pro in the lockdown years of 2020 or 2021 when I was incredibly bored that I got the courage again to ask for pro this time. I did and I have to say I was playing on the pro regions for a bit but then I wanted to play other games with my friends as I couldn’t meet them in real life so multiplayer games was the way to go and plus none of them are interested in aviation anyways so I drifted apart from it. A bit after when things started to get normal again before COVID-19 wasn’t a recurring thing on the news everyday that I started to play it more, especially in school holidays. Now here I am on the Expert Server, flying as much as I can whenever I can flying to the airports I want to visit, trying to copy real life routes. Then in February and this year I joined the IFC after many years of just looking at it without an account and here I am trying to contribute whenever I can.
I didn’t realise I just made a whole English essay 💀
Downloaded the app one day (don’t remember why), then I saw a post on Facebook that they’re looking for people to Beta Test IFATC (yes, there was a time when all we had was Unicom), sent an e-mail, got accepted, then the Facebook Group moved to the IFC, I took a bit of a break, returned in 2017, went to a meet-up in 2019, met Cameron and Misha, became a Beta tester again, then a Moderator a couple of months later, and almost five years after that and more than 10 years after first downloading the app, here I (still) am.
Played it first when my uncle introduced me to it when it first came out and that’s when I discovered my passion for aviation. I remember flying the first A380 and loving the game. Stopped for a few years and picked it up again after downloading it from the App Store in 2017. Been playing it ever since.
Don’t apologise it’s great to hear your story I remember asking parents “can I buy something please” 😅
Wow that’s really impressive!, it’s great to hear your b in the beta team, thanks for allb the work you do for the SIM ☺️
The old A380 😍 I could never ever land it, it was always a slam dunk with a bounce type of landing 😅
Exactly so much has changed lmao.
Now I can butter her but the shaking cockpit cam makes it seem like I haven’t flared and have landed at 180kts 🤣
Was trying to find an online, mobile flight simulator in the summer of 2016. After looking for a while to no avail, I found Infinite Flight. It looked entirely different back then, but I remember seeing busy traffic in KSAN for my first flight up to KLAX. I have been with the simulator ever since!
I remember the old ksfo and egll they was the good days 😅 I only flew in solo on the old region maps so it was a lonely place 🤣
then you must know some train simulators that are good to try
Old KSFO, and the infamous KNUQ. Miss those days, but IF has come so incredibly far
It has for sure ! I wonder what the future has in store 🤔
More than we can imagine! (: The developers, 3D artists, airport editors, moderators, everyone is incredible
I discovered Infinite flight back 2014 when I searched flight simulators. Boy I still remember when it looked like this and now look how far the sim has come. Been some journey and more to come 😊
Is it me or was tire smoke a thing back then 😅 along with the us airways A321 😍
The scary thing is, the devs already know 👀
That is game is legendary, I used to play another game from the same developers called “Fly Hawaii” the fact that I used to play that and actually enjoy it is embarrassing 😭. I guess the point is we all start somewhere :)
