When i was at KMIA we had pilots to close for spacing where is the enforcement
What server was this on? Also, was there ATC present?
I’ve had this on the expert server also with ATC. Even had one that cleared me to takeoff when I was in a heavy with an aircraft 2nm out. Its getting sloppy
Spacing is first and foremost in pilots responsibility, e.g. if two pilots are approaching the same runway. If radar or approach ATC is not active, spacing is there job. Therefore they get a sequence from the tower ATC if active.
For departures the ATC manual says, the first plane must be airborne before the second gets a clearance. Yes, ATC should consider spacing in respect of the different aircraft types. But if a plane is already 2nm out, it’s pretty enough. It will be 3-4nm outside if the second is airborne. And again, spacing is pilots responsibility in the air. So check, if it is a good idea to going straight up to 250kt. At takeoff the initial climb speed should not exceed V2+20kt. And after that, if airspace is pretty busy it might also be an idea to not exceed 200-210kt below 5000ft or even up to 10000ft. Some departure procedures limit it up to FL100. If radar ATC is active, they’ll give you advice, if something is getting too close and they have communicated the takeoff frequency with the tower ATC.
So, if there are ATCs active for tower and radar on expert server, trust in them. If radar is not active, spacing in the air is your job as a pilot.
Oh and if two planes are landing or taking off right next to each other, it’s also ok, even if the other plane appears red on your map. At landing it’s totally fine. On takeoff, the tower ATC might give you an extend upwind command, before doing any turns to avoid crashing into each other but that’s pretty unlikely to happen at all on ES. It’s mostly only happening if flying patterns.
Why not base it off real ATc Not one plane after the other give time between each plane to avoid turbulence
At times of unrealistic amount of traffic in IF at some airports, it is better to blast the dep out with minimal spacing instead of waiting everyone for even longer as the line keeps backing up at some hubs.
