Actually, in 10 years, it will be 2034
Er, look at the creation date
Almost a year since I made this topic
The Overture sonic boom plane will be in IF in 10 years I think
100%. Hopefully with some retro liveries as well. UA, AA, US Aiways.
Itâs because it is already in the works. They are running tests with other aircraft by reworking them first finding out what works and what doesnât. They wonât add the A350-1000 because they donât want to make the same mistakes, they did with the A350-900 and the unrealistic liveries and a blacked-out cabin. By adding the A350-1000 they would have to rework the A350-900 first. Right now, because the A350-900 is not a priority of reworks at the moment they wonât be able to make the A350-1000s. It could also be that they donât have all the information necessary to make the A350-1000. Just give it time. I think they will work on it as soon as the 737 MAX 8, one of the worst planes to ever exist with those whining LEAP-1B engines, releases.
The choice to add liveries that wasnât delivered was halted. The cabin? The aircraft couldnât have a cabin at that time. It was already very high in polygons.
Plus, those mistakes you said could be fixed.
Not true. Just because something is missing in an aircraft doesnât mean it is in need for a âreworkâ to add this missing feature.
The A350-1000 didnât allow feature requests until now. It had to do with the amount of operators on that aircraft.
If that is the case then why did the A330-300 need to be reworked before adding the A330-900 NEO?
The old A330 was legacy. The A350 isnât.
To answer this, itâs rather simple.
The Airbus A330-300 was already being reworked, as it won a poll between the BCS3 and A333.
Given the A330-900 is simply an A330-300 with slightly altered wingtips and different engines (in addition to other, smaller details), the development team decided that, due to the similarities, the A330-900 would be added in the update following the A330-300.
based on your information the A330-900 NEO could have easily been added before the A330-300 rework but they didnât.
That is why the A330-900 NEO was not in the poll between the BCS3 and A333 poll.
like @Adam said
basically, saying they needed to rework the A333 first then add the A330-900 NEO. It has to be the same thing with the A350-1000. Look at how the 777s were updated as well. It was the 777-200ER and then the 777-200LR, 777F and 777-300ER were added because of the redone wingtips. They followed the smallest to largest variant same thing will happen with the A350-1000.
At the time the A330 won the poll, the old A330 was legacy and inaccurate, thus leading to the develop of a new A330 since the old one was far from quality standard. The A333 has many aircraft that are similar (A330neo, A332, A343) But those were not made with an A330 rework since it would take too much time instead of moving on to the next project. But I guess the staff surprised us with an A330neo.
Quality of aircraft has been similar since the 777 so its not like the current A330 isnt quality standard. (Though has some missing animations)
They could the opposite, variants will ALWAYS need to be developed anyway.
Exactly so then what will end up happening is they will more than likely rework the A350-900 first as it needs to fit the other quality traits like the A330s, a380, 757, 777s and ERJs. The A350-900 is about as good as the 787s in terms of quality although slightly better with the animated cocpit. So, they would need to do a rework on the A350-900 first then the A350-1000 will be added. I got a feeling that is exactly what will happen. The IF devs team wouldnât want to add a non-existing cabin to the A350-1000. Since the IF dev team has history of making aircraft types on par with all variants of the aircraft type that would mean they would rework the already existing A350-900 and then add the A350-1000. It is the only thing that would make sense.
A350-900 could rather be "finishedâ, or a soft rework in other words. Before work is started on the A350-1000 (IF it comes)
@Advanced exactly
You said âreworkâ, which usually means full rework. This is probably a misunderstanding?
Well, a cabin and getting rid of unnecessary pylons will require a full rework. Any rework they do will require them to replace the existing aircraft meaning even a soft rework will still require a lot of work. So, the devs have been holding off on that until they run tests of what works and what doesnât, so they donât repeat the mistakes they ended up making with the A350-900. I am no software engineer or graphics designer, but I have watched people put things together and I understand the work they do to a point. Which is why I am able to make educated guesses based on my own observations.
Whatâs the point of re-doing something just to return to how you were?
The cabin can surely be added without a full rework. The 3D software is very custom.
The devs know what their doing. As said before, the A359 missing cabin was probably due to a high amount of polygons (At the time it was released), so it was left with a void cabin which is the foundation IF a cabin ever comes. This also explains why the co-pilot displays are mirrored.
