As someone who is still awaiting access for IF Live and has barely seen much footage covering what Live actually looks like, I was interested to know from those who have it. What’s it like? Can you just join VA’s and fly for them? Etc. I’ve seen people have to pay lifts and so wondering if it’s even a free process. Let me know as I’d be interested to see the other side of the game.

It doesn’t look much different, except for the planning and managing sites for the schedules and VAs etc.
When flying, it’s the same as flying normally on Expert Server. The main difference is, that the planes develop a history and they stay, where you parked them. And of course, that all people see those aircraft parked, even when nobody is using them at that moment.
Apply for VA’s as you like and you can provide them your free lift which comes with a Pro Subscription. And when you are in Live and in such a VA, you can fly those planes as well.
For myself, I wanted to stay independent, create my own schedules and so I pay for one additional lift per month. That way I created my own VO with one aircraft, which I manage and fly.
But this is not the basic initial thought of Live. It’s rather about joining a VA, donating the free lift you get every month as Pro user and find friends and enjoy flying the VA’s fleet which gets bigger by getting more lifts from more pilot users.
Both ways are possible and it’s your decision which way you prefer.
