2 things, I’m absolutely in love with aviation, it just gets me going. The other thing, which is more recent, is the total nationwide lockdown here in NZ which is preventing me from doing flight lessons. So, I’m practicing in the sim instead!
Helluva explanation but yeah I guess you’re right. Aviation just kinda pulls you in and distracts you from (almost) everything else.
Many things. One’s my flying bug. I just have to feed my mind with flying (just put me in a real plane and I’ll be set 😂). The other is the fantastic community we have. There’s no better place to fly with. Not a single VA/VO compares to the community, a people that come from many different backgrounds, helping, educating and giving new feelings to flying. Once you’re fully immersed, you never fly alone.
Sometimes I even decide to fly on my phone and while the plane is in the air, I’ll study for some time. Usually I plan this out, so if I want to study for 2-3 hours I’ll do a flight similar with that ETA so I know I can’t use my phone during that time. Other than that, IF is amazing! I’m glad I found this app and made some good interactions within the community as well.
Because the passion for the air came from an early age, it was already in the blood. And I see airplanes all day, and I like to imagine how that iron bird manages to be in the air. This is something incredible. The love of aviation.
What I used to think of aviation, what I did when I first fell in love with it, and what I think of it now is what powers my spirit. What motivates me is that spirit, that spirit of being able to move in the most incredible way in the world. Think about it, you are moving hundreds of miles and hour tens of thousands of feet in the sky, in a enchanted beautiful sky beast called an airplane. What’s not to like? Some people think that’s scary, some people think it’s cool, and some thinks it so cool that they fall in love with it, and those people will forever think of aviation as one of the most incredible concepts in the world. They may even make it a career, a way of life.
To sum it up. If you are feeling unmotivated, think back to your most aviation spirit you have ever felt. Think about what was going through your mind at the time. For me that was June of 2017. I had just walked into the terminal at my home airport KMSO early in the morning to catch a flight to Denver. I had been there several times before but not for a while. I walked through the door glanced down the extent of terminal, and a Captain and his FO walked past me. We then checked in and went through security and as soon as I looked through the windows and out onto the tarmac and saw our plane, and something happened that I had never felt once.
That was the planting of the seed. My first rush of the spirit of aviation. So just think and remember why you love aviation. If you truly have the seed, that spirit won’t be hard to find.
To be completely honest, I’m starting to slowly lose interest in IF itself as I get my next subscriptions. Not to insult anyone, but I find that it is a very simplified simulation of the real world, where I’m looking to get something much more serious like X-plane 11/Vatsim. While I had/have IF, what motivates me to fly is because I’m quite bored at home. I would just do a small flight when I’m bored or do a long haul. I used to be G5 but now I’m G5 because I can’t be bothered to get 200 landings. IF Is interesting because you have the whole world in the palm of your hands, and you can fly wherever you please, whenever you want. I love being above the clouds and soaring high above. Flying is my favorite hobby and I wish to make it my career very soon.
Flying on IF used to be one of my favorite things to do. Doing routes to and from countries around the world was what motivated me. Miss flying on IF :(
What motivates me? The thrill of flying, and the awesome community. Sure, there are other simulators available, but what makes infinite flight special is the community, and the effort and time spent on every intricate detail of the simulator.
I love to fly so I’ll do whenever I can. You can fly anywhere in the world and everything is just so realistic.
the variety of aircraft plus flying anywhere in the world love the freedom in infinite flight but mostly this community is what keeps me flying in infinite flight plus it’s the first flight sim I’ve ever played where you had the option of being an air traffic controller
The thrill of flying honestly and the VA’s I’m in
Virtual airlines, especially this one, scenery, and the satisfaction of buttering the bread!
I feel the same way. I get bored as well. Honestly it’s the military aircraft that keep me coming back.
i think its more of a passion oriented ball game for a lot of people, to fly find/feel realism in the game.
But for me its sheer knowledge; comprehended that knowledge is power,
everyday i read more on the community and understand more and more day by day.
I think what motivates me is to have a good flying reputation by keeping my grade up (when I do have my sub). But mine motivation keeps getting less and less because I’ve been so busy lately and not had the time to fly. Things that do keep me coming back is when shiny new planes get released :D
How about that flying is amazing and tons of fun?!
Whoa this thread has blown up again haha🤣, appreciate the replys guys 👍
lol no problem
What actually motivates me to continue flying whether in IF or other simulators is that i can practice what I’ve dreamt of since my childhood and couldn’t achieve it… I can just prove to myself that i can fly and implement the procedures in addition to read and interpret charts just by a self-learning method without the need of help from others… The passion and determination is the key of success in any field…
