What is X Track/Track offset

Hello. Can someone please explain to me what X Track or Track Offset is? If there is a post about this, please link me to it. Thanks!

It’s how far you are horizontaly from your flight plan.

For example draw a line one the map to represent the flight plan, if you’re 5nm from that line, then xtrack ofset is 5nm

X-Track tells you how far off you are from your route (between two waypoints) in nautical miles.
