This has been a question that I’ve never found an answer to. I presume it’s a category for Infinite Flight talk, but there’s never been some form of conformation for this. The category description states, “Topics that don’t need a category, or don’t fit into any other existing category”. This tells me that it’s essentially a category with no restrictions whatsoever. It doesn’t have an “About the X category” topic either, so I’m a bit disorientated if I must say. Multiple users have told me that it is purely an Infinite Flight category, but there are no rules saying so.
I would appreciate if someone more knowledgable would verify this for all forum users.
Good question, we should actually change the description. The category is used for all topics that don’t fit in any other category. However, the topic must be related to Infinite Flight.
And this is why I believe that duplicate posts should not be flagged, closed or deleted in the General category. This is the only place where new members can introduce and interact with others.
Every new member is going to ask something that has been asked before. But it’s not supposed to be about the question, it’s a way to meet others.
For example, you are not going to tell a new member to your local R/C flying club to check previous meeting minutes if they ask you a question, because that would be rude. You are going to treat them with respect, and answer their question like you have with a hundred previous new members.
So why can’t we with extend the same kind courtesy here?
I appreciate your input, but please, do take this to another topic. I made this topic to aim discussion towards the general category itself. If you don’t agree with the rules, go ahead and make a new topic explaining your opinion. Nothing’s stopping you. This is getting off topic, and I don’t want to start flagging.
