Hello everyone! I was wondering what is the biggest plane that could realistically fly out of Key West International Airport (EYW)? Please let me know, thank you!
I’ll guess is the A319/A320. You can check the planes used on each real routes with these webs:
- FlightsFrom
- Flight Connections (For this one you must keep the arrow over the scheduled flights in the calendar)
The largest ones I’ve seen on flightaware are 737-700s and a319s.
Ifatc.org is a great resource for this. It although its not always accurate it gives you a good reference point. :)
Realistically, Key West can fit up to an A321/B739, nothing larger than this, though most flights into EYW are operated with the A319/B737/E175.
Yes. I have been there in real life, and will be working there this summer. The biggest planes are as was said above, E175s, A319s (no A320s), and B737s (No 738s).
If I recall correct, for the 737-700 and the A319, there are also weight restrictions for them. Please don’t be the type of person who thinks its the entire 737/A320 family, the restrictions are very specific and precise.
Yeah I know there’s type/weight restrictions for the 737 and A319 but I wasn’t sure, thanks for pointing that out @Aceorbit and @Joseph_Spinner!
A319. The 737-700 is (slightly) smaller. However, I am interested to know what aircraft JetBlue is gonna use when it starts operations there this year. I am guessing the E190 or A220.
Currently JetBlue uses the E190 at EYW!
Thanks! Since I was thinking about that for some time.
