What is the best plane for tight pattern work?

I was wondering what planes and what airports you guys like to use… It is hard to turn 180 degrees for a touch and go.

Anything small, probably no bigger than a C172 or TBM…

The Cessna 208 Caravan is my personal favorite. Great plane for patterns!

C172 is my fav

Ah yes, the old caravan…

Als KPIT works great for absurdly tight patterns, take off runway 28R circle around land 10R, and loop again for 28R, and just keep going in a circle…

My personal favourite for pattern work would be the SR22, though I’d imagine the Super Decathlon would be able to make some pretty slow, sharp and steep turns…

I can get you a diagram if you want, it takes a small amount of practice, but once I got good I could get multiple landings in a minute…

ok sure!
i’d like to see it

I am the known legend for tight pattern work! I use the C172 at KSAN. I’ve done it for hours and I never get bored!

TBM is probably the best because of its size, and its physics are actually new so that helps. C172/208 and the Dash 8 are also good options, although obviously the dash can’t be that tight.

F-16 or any fighter really. Just have to get used to flying them.

All examples are good, depends on how “fast” you want to get downwind and how many nm you like to go out to line up for final.

The A-10 is even good for pattern work at a military base. It’s about all it’s for in the global structure of this game; before or after rework.

I used to do it with the Cessna but I find the TBM to be much more fun now. I will reach grade 5 again because of my fav small prop 😍

The super decathlon, it is so easy to do a super tight pattern in it.

fighters are good for doing touch and goes because they’re quick, if you do touch and goes by hopping from airport to airport i use a TBM. :)
