What do you think personally is the best aircraft? Not just your favorite, but what actually do you think is the best aircraft ever created?
Best? The Bell 212
My favourite and best ever aircraft in my eyes is the B788 :)
The A350 for sure!
Thatās an extremely broad question that I really cannot answer. There is no single best aircraft, as different aircraft are made to perform different tasks. It also heavily depends on what your definition of ābestā is. Best GA aircraft? C172. Best fighter jet? F22. Best short range airliner? 737 series. Etc, etc, etc.
Never thought about it that way, well said!
You can continue this here:
In terms of network, I gotta say Iām slowly drawing towards the Airbus A220 for 1st place.
Because of its slightly-narrower interior, airlines are forced to arrange Economy Class in a comfortable 2-3 configuration, allowing for couples to select the ā2ā side and families having the other side.
With its surprisingly large range of 3800 nautical miles (with restrictions) it can perform transatlantic routes with less demand.
In second place, itās gotta go to the new A321XLR. An insanely versatile aircraft that will open up tons of new international routes.
With its range of 4700 nmi, it can reach practically all of Europe, most of South America, and portions of Africa from New York City.
From Tokyo for example, it can reach places in the U.S. like Seattle, East Europe, and Australia
Looking at that map that is a narrow body getting dangerously close to Asia to east coast flights. Imagine if a flight between somewhere like I think Pittsburgh is actually a good example. It would probably be hard to justify a 777, or 787 type load, but with 300,000 people, and multiple international businesses, a 100 seat flight between here and Tokyo, or Hong Kong looks to me at least fairly viable, and how many other medium sized cities are there like that? The things that sort of plane can do is incredible. Sure the example I said isnāt possible, yet but Iām sure there are cities that that possibility has already been unlocked, and I canāt wait to see them start to be exploitedā¦
I donāt particularly like the A320, always preferred the 737, but thatās incredibleā¦
Airbus A380! Huge, spacious, (first class has a shower, on Emirates) barely any sound. Iāve traveled on it many times (specifically Emirates). Itās unfortunate that they are discontinuing it soon
I still say the 212, it can do whatever you need it to. Need land on a roof and be able to use an aircraft? 212.
Need carry passengers? 212
Need to be able fast rope into a terrorist infested area? 212
Want to float? 212!
Want a mutli engine aircraft? YES! 212!
A321 and A321neo is the best
I mean, I wouldnāt be too surprised to see PIT as a potential LR or XLR destination for airlines like Aer Lingus out of Dublin.
We were going to be, but⦠š¤
Noā¦
well I say going to be, but I more mean highly rumored, and I guess that was going to be the regular LR anyways, still an impressive plane though, and more or less the same from the outsideā¦
A330 for me, the design of the landing gear provides a smooth touch down.
A350. Modern, efficient, s e x y f a c e, HUUUUGE
I would say
A320neo
A339neo
B789
B744
DC-3
78X for sure. Modern, efficient, beautiful.
777-300ER. Being from CLT, never seen one before, but I can imagine it makes quite the buttery landing because of the 6 tires on each gear.
The A220 becauseā¦
