What is Standard Metric Level

Searching for some help finding an official reference for what standard metric level is. Google and common sense have me thinking it’s Flight Level but in meters instead of feet.

This is for a work thing and I’m having trouble finding the reference for this other than aviation stack exchange.

Sort of except that says the clearance must be given in terms of feet not meters above transition altitude.
