What is "ready for pushback with information"

I’ve heard pushback requests that say “ready for pushback with information charlie” or any other phonetic word, what does it mean, and how do I send it?

That has to do with the currently active ATIS. If you listen to the ATIS, it’ll automatically add the letter to your pushback request.

“Information Charlie” is the current ATIS - which is only available as a selectable frequency on the Expert Server.

how do i “listen” to the ATIS? do I tune into the frequency and just wait until it says something?

Exactly.

ATIS stands for Automatic Terminal Information Service. It is a continuous broadcast of recorded aeronautical information at airports. The ATIS provides essential information for pilots, such as:
1. Current Weather: Includes wind speed and direction, visibility, cloud coverage, and temperature.
2. Active Runways: Which runways are in use for arrivals and departures.
3. Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs): Relevant operational updates, such as closed taxiways or other restrictions.
4. Altimeter Settings: The pressure setting required for accurate altitude readings.
5. Other Operational Details: Any additional information relevant to the airport’s operations, such as closed gates or ground delays.

The “information [letter]” (e.g., “information Charlie”) corresponds to the current ATIS broadcast. It changes periodically to ensure pilots have the latest updates.

By listening to the ATIS, you confirm that you are aware of the current conditions, which is a critical part of realistic flight operations.

Also, this is helpful if a controller has updated his ATIS to version Delta, and a pilot says ‘with information Charlie’, the controller can then notify there is a more recent ATIS version

Thank you for this information. When a new version of the ATIS is available it goes down the alphabet, like charlie to delta?

I think that in game a controller can select whichever identifier letter he wants, but logically, yes, it should start at Alpha and proceed alphabetically

That is correct, yes.

Yeah or just look at it on the airport info on the map
