This might be a stupid question but what is an intersection departure?
Where you take off from a point other then the threshold.
Okay, thank you. 😃
An intersection take-off (or departure, same thing) is a take-off that starts at some point other than the end of the runway, at an intersection of the runway with a taxiway or another runway. Intersection take-offs can save time for aircraft that are able to carry them out (usually small aircraft at airports with long runways). If ATC tells you “No intersection departures allowed” that means they are not permitting you to takeoff from where you currently are holding short. You must proceed to taxi to the very end of the runway for departure in that case.
