What Is a Route That You are Surprised is Flown Out of Your Home Airport?

I mean a long haul flight when i track it shown that plane travel multiple cities

My airport operates lots of sports charters for football, soccer, baseball, and hockey. We even have a 747 that does patterns every week. But, I’m surprised that my airport has a direct service to Fort Lauderdale (KFLL).

In case you’re wondering, my home airport is KLGB.

There are no routes that really surprise me that depart from San Francisco or San Jose (the United flight to Chengdu is something I find a little odd), but there is one from Oakland. I believe this route only flies for the summer season (but I’m not completely sure), but Azores Airlines flies form Terceira (Lajes) to Oakland with a leaded HiFly A343! Really find this an odd route but I guess it makes them money…

One of them is the San Jose-London Heathrow, another being the ANA one to Narita.

SFO also operates these flights. In fact, ANA is making a HND flight to SFO as well, so that’s why I’m surprised. Very close in vicinity.

This one is the most surprising one for me: Antonov-225 largest aircraaft in the world land in my home airport i forgot about that it was long time ago in 2014 i think

London to San Francisco is a very competitive route so I believe this is just for bringing passengers to Silicon Valley, which many people flying to San Francisco end up going to.

About the Tokyo—Haneda route, Japan Airlines prioritizes this route (operates as JL1), because the demand for flights between Japan, Singapore, and a few other Asian countries is a lot. Also, Haneda is closer to Tokyo I believe so it is an airport airlines would like to fly to… (Japan Airlines thinks their Haneda route is doing so well, they’re going to start sending their 787s from Narita as well)

Lastly, All Nippon Airways has switched over their service from Narita to Haneda (from San Jose), and this will go into effect on March 29!

Flight TK6319 is a scheduled route from Istanbul every Friday and Sunday, and any random day of the week.

British Airways Charleston, South Carolina?

Beijing. The only far Eastern route in Scotland. Flow by Hainan in a 7878

My home airport is Pittsburgh.

I’m surprised they fly a BA 788 nonstop to LHR!

I thought they flew the 788?

That A350 flies right over my head at 40,000 feet everyday around 3:00 PM on its way to Charlotte

Definitely MCO to São Paulo with Latam’s A350

For me, I think DFW to Fairbanks is a rather surprising route. Like Altaria said, there isn’t too much that’s surprising.

A really surprising route for me is San Jose to Zacatecas with Volaris. Zacatecas is a very small airport in Mexico so I was surprised when the only way you can fly to Zacatecas from the Bay Area is through SJC
