Hello people of the IFC! I’ve been pondering about my own favourite moments in the aviation industry and big events, even the saddest of times can make it yours, so I’ve decided to think about what all your opinions would be as the best event that has happened in Real Life. Could be a flight, test flight. Airline celebrations. New Aircraft. ANYTHING! Fire away!
Probably the A350 test flight LiveStream. That was very fun to watch, and the A350 is a beautiful aircraft.
Ah, sorry I’m an idiot. But I am TL2.
The landing was what surprised me the most. To when it touched down on it’s main gear, it sinks down more after it’s up for a brief few seconds.
I was 20 years old and was the first time I had ever been on a plane. I Went out with one of my friends that had his PPL in a Cessna 172. The best part about this to me is when we were in the air and he looks over at me and says controls are yours!
Probably the 787-10 launch
When I got my PPL. That was the best Moment for me
The first time I flew on a plane (Air Canada 767 KFLL-CYYZ)
Taking off on my first solo.
I had been hearing my friends say that they were whooping and hollering during their first solo and I thought that wouldn’t be me, that I’d be cool and calm, yet excited. Well, that certainly wasn’t the case.
As I accelerated down the runway, even though I knew I was alone I still looked around the cabin; this was it, I was alone and about to take to the air. I yelled WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! the whole way down the runway until I rotated. I was so friggin’ happy.
New Smyrna Beach, Florida, April 19th of 1995.
I’m on the left, and that’s my call sign on IF.
In 2014, my first flight, UAL219 Boeing 777-200. Everybody was nice , I got to sit in Captain’s seat after landing in Honolulu, and while exiting the plane flight attendants passed out wings to everyone
Riding unaccompanied for the first time on a frontier flight. I felt so in charge and it was an amazing trip.
I’m still waiting for this
Cool man. On a side note, your the most 90s kid I’ve ever seen :P
Today is actually been 2 years since I soloed an airplane so ironic that you bring that up
My first intro / discovery flight on my 14th birthday.
The time I flew over and circled my house with my CFI was quite fun.
First time taking control of a Cirrus SR22.
The first time seeing a a380 at DFW
The time i flew on the Fat Albert of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels 😍
I’ve had a lot of good times! I love transiting through new countries and seeing the airlines and planes. But my best my have been when I flew the Cessna 172 back in 2014, it was my first flight.
