I am going to give a short brief ,SQ 117 was hijacked 26 years ago by 4 Pakistani terrorists and they demanded to land the plane in Sydney but not in Singapore but they didn’t have enough fuel and landed at Singapore after that they said to stop at runway and make sure no one reaches them
Unique Fact : SQ117 is still exist until today. Serving KUL-SIN with A330-300 :)
I’ve noticed that most planes that get hi-jacked want to go to Sydney like it’s a great place I love it hear but why?
Maybe because Australia’s area is pretty remote?
Glad that the Hijackers decided to let the pilots land the aircraft (On many Hijacking scenes, Hijackers usually never let the pilot to land at any point except their destination). Glad that the Negotiating team succesfully negotiated with the Hijackers although it failed and the SOC had to storm the aircraft
Like what happened to INDIAN AIRLINES 814 (IC 814)
It reminds me of Air France 8969. Similar aircraft, similar situation…
RSAF didn’t storm the aircraft
The Special Operations Command (SOC) did
The most hilarious part was that they exploited their weakness
They got a tip off that they didnt speak english well
So when they stormed the aircraft they shouted “get down!”
Obviously they stuck out like sore thumbs and they were eliminated quickly 🤣
Changed it, Thanks to remind me Sean ;)
My bad haha
Special Operations Forces
According to the article
And youre welcome for the reminder 😉
Normally flight numbers are revoked only when there is a loss of life, but since the passengers survived there is no reason to remove the number :)
